Pros and Cons of Having a 144hz Laptop

Most 144Hz Laptops are capable of running high-end games. However, most of these laptops lack a lot of battery timing. This is very obvious as these gaming laptops are made to be compact and easy to carry. Hence, the battery pack used in most of these laptops is thin and small. Many components in a gaming laptop suck the battery. Additional Components like Cooling Fans, Backlit Keyboards, Cameras, etc. tend to discharge the battery quickly.

Acer Predator Helios 300

The Acer Predator Helios 300 lies in the budget section of the 144Hz Laptops category. This laptop is equipped with an 11th Generation Core i7 CPU paired up with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3060 GPU. Both the CPU and GPU are considered very competitive in the 144hz Laptop category. This is because the Acer Predator is a very affordable laptop in terms of gaming and when compared to other gaming laptops.

All of these specifications are paired up with a 15.6-inch HD (High Definition) display which can support a refresh rate up to 144 Hz. The laptop comes pre-installed with 16 Gigabytes of DDR4 Ram and 512 Gigabytes of SSD storage. However, the Acer Predator Helios 300 lacks battery timing. According to some tests and reports, its battery can only last up to 3-4 hours before it needs to be charged.

Advantages

By playing on a 144hz laptop gamers can have a professional gaming experience. On a 144hz screen, there are very rare chances of page rupture. Page rupture mostly occurs on screens that are only capable of providing a refresh rate up to 60Hz. However, when using a 144Hz laptop the gamer does not need to face any kind of lags or glitches. Gamers can get one of the fastest response times on 144Hz Laptops.

This means that there will be a minimal delay between the actual output of the graphic card and the input of the display. A 144Hz Laptop is capable of a response time of 5 milliseconds to a minimum of 3 milliseconds. Such a small response time helps reduce the blur effect a gamer may face while playing games. This much response time is considered optimal for playing competitive games like Fortnite, PUBG, Overwatch, and Counter-strike.

Disadvantages

There are some disadvantages a gamer may have to face when using a 144Hz Laptop. A 144Hz Laptop is not optimal for everyday use or office use. This is because either their body dimensions or screen dimensions are too thick. Which makes it heavy and not very compact to carry daily. Some 144Hz Laptops are even produced in thinner dimensions.

However, their battery is of a smaller capacity hence they don’t even last a full day. Due to a smaller battery, the user would have to carry the charger with them and also be sure whether there’s a charging port available at their destination. Some 144Hz Laptops are paired up with heavy GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) and CPUs (Core Processing Unit) which makes them exhaust out a lot of heat. Hence, most users of this kind of laptop need to carry an extra cooling pad for their laptop.

Razor Blade 15

Razor Blade 15 is one of the thinnest 144Hz Laptops available on the market. The Laptop has outperformed specifications which makes it one of the best in the 144Hz Laptop category. Razor Blade 15 is equipped with a Core i9 CPU 12th Generation and Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti GPU. The CPU can turbo boost up to 5.3GHz which makes it unbeatable when compared with other 144Hz Laptops.

For such a powerful CPU, the laptop is paired up with a 32GB DDR5 Ram to avoid bottlenecks when playing games. DDR5 is the latest technology in rams until now. The Razor Blade 15 is equipped with a 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) display which is capable of up to a 144 Hz Refresh Rate. To avoid heating problems and random shutdowns, the Razor Blade 15 is modified with the latest Vapor Chamber Cooling technology.
